Carbon Credit Types
Alpen Carbon sells carbon credits that fund climate change projects. The carbon credits sold are:
- Avoidance Carbon Credits
- Sequestration Carbon Credits
- Hybrid Carbon Credits

Avoidance Carbon Credits
Avoidance carbon credits represent emissions reductions achieved by preventing greenhouse gas emissions that would have otherwise occurred.
A carbon credit is a commodity that represents one metric ton of carbon dioxide (COâ‚‚) or an equivalent amount of another greenhouse gas (COâ‚‚e). These credits are registered in reference to international methodologies. Our carbon credits are registered on international registries using international methodologies.
Key features of avoidance of carbon credits include emissions preventions, renewable energy projects, energy efficiency, avoidance deforestation and methane capture.

Alpen Carbon's services, including the sale of carbon credits, are not financial products, investments, or securities. The credits are provided solely for environmental offsetting purposes and carry no expectation of financial return.

Sequestration Carbon Credits
Sequestration carbon credits represent the removal and long-term storage of carbon dioxide (COâ‚‚) from the atmosphere.
Key features of sequestration Carbon Credits include active carbon removal such as afforestation, wetland and peatland restoration, soil carbon projects, biochar, blue carbon, Direct Air Capture (DAC).
Sequestration is critical for achieving net-zero emissions, as it offsets emissions from sectors that are hard to decarbonise.

Alpen Carbon's services, including the sale of carbon credits, are not financial products, investments, or securities. The credits are provided solely for environmental offsetting purposes and carry no expectation of financial return.

Hybrid Carbon Credits
Hybrid carbon credits from various projects and include both avoidance and sequestration carbon credits.
